Laparoscopic General Surgery

Laparoscopic General Surgery

Laparoscopic General Surgery is a modern technique also called 'key hole' or 'minimally invasive' surgery usually via your belly button, using tiny 1cm sized wounds to operate inside you with instruments and a camera.

There are lots of advantages to this type of key hole surgery versus the traditional 'open' technique. Scarring, pain, bleeding and wound infections are reduced after key hole operations and your return to activities are a lot quicker as well as reducing your after care needs as we avoid long skin incisions.

Although laparoscopic surgery is not suitable for all patients it is my standard practice and is becoming the gold standard as a technique worldwide.
